Ponguleti asks T-MPs to fight on cotton issue Hyderabad, Oct 24 (INN): Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Saturday asked all MPs from Telangana to pressurise the Centre over the issue of cotton farmers.
Speaking to media persons here, Ponguleti said Bandaru Dattatraya, the lone minister from Telangana in Union Cabinet, and all MPs, especially those belonging to TRS should pressurise the Centre over purchase of cotton. He said that the Cotton Corporation of India has failed to purchase cotton from farmers. He demanded that the government pay Rs. 5,000 per quintal as subsidy to cotton farmers.
Ponguleti also slammed the government for increase in prices of pulses. He said Toor Dal was now being sold at a whopping price of Rs. 210 per kg.
