Gajwel to get safe drinking water by April: KTR Hyderabad Oct 26 (INN): Panchayat Raj Minister K Tarakarama Rao informed that 3,000 households in Gajwel of Medak district will get safe drinking water by April 30 next year.
Speaking after conducting a review meeting with the senior officials at the State Secretariat here on Monday, the minister said that the first phase of ambitious Water Grid project would be operational by April next year. Beginning with Gajwel of Medak districts, safe drinking water would be supplied to several areas in Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy, Mahabubnagar and Khammam district. He directed the Telangana Drinking project SEs and EEs and other officials to have better coordination with all concerned departments to ensure speedy completion of the project. He said in the first phase, safe drinking water would be supplied to 24,500 households.
KTR said that the works should be executed as per the set deadlines. He said the works on laying of internal pipeline connecting the main lines should be completed on priority basis. He authorised the SEs to take a decision on pipeline designs and carryout necessary changes. He also authorised the officials to hire employees on outsourcing basis to execute the works.
