Congress MLA demands water for Mahabubnagar Hyderabad, Oct 26 (INN): Congress MLA Sampath Kumar on Monday demanded that the Telangana Government immediately release water for Mahabubnagar district.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here, Sampath Kumar feared that crops spread across 70,000 acres would be lost if water is not released on immediate basis from Jurala and RDS. He said farmers have been fighting each other due to scarcity of water. Instead of resolving the crisis, the State Government is registering cases against farmers, he alleged.
Sampath Kumar said that the TRS Government was not accepting responsibility for anything and it did not change its attitude despite more than 1500 farmers committing suicide across the State.
