T-Cong to launch campaign on farmer's issue
Hyderabad, Oct 27 (INN): The Kisan Khet Mazdoor Cell of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) will launch a massive signature campaign on the issue of farmers.
Speaking to media persons after chairing a meeting of Kisan Cell's district units at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Cell chaiman M. Kodanda Reddy said that the signature campaign would be aimed at highlighting the failure of TRS Government to address the issues of farmers and also the suicides committed by hundreds of farmers. He also slammed the State Government for its failure to address the concerns of cotton farmers. He alleged that Marketing Minister T. Harish Rao has been misleading the cotton farmers in the State by not implementing the MSP.
Kodanda Reddy also alleged that seed companies, which were earlier accused of supplying spurious seeds to farmers, were being encouraged by TRS Government.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference, TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka also accused the TRS Government of providing several sops to seed companies who had earlier cheated farmers with sub-standard seeds. He said it was being done only to get commission from those companies.
