GHMC Elections: High Court Puts Deadline To Govt
At last it is curtains down on the issue of elections to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. Hyderabad High Court has announced a deadline for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.
The high court responding to a petition filed about delay in GHMC elections ordered' Telangana government to hold elections to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) before'31 January 2016
It has directed the Telangana Government to conduct the GHMC polls by Jnauary 31 st 2016. It has also asked the government to complete the division of wards and reservation exercise by December 15 th 2015. The court was hearing a petition on the delay in conducting GHMC elections.
The High Court, a few days ago, had expressed displeasure over the inordinate delay in holding polls. According to sources, the government reported to the Court that it would conduct the civic body polls beforeJanuary 31, 2016.
