Supreme Court orders Govt To Lift Ban On ABN ABN Andhrajyothi channel which was banned unofficially almost a year ago will soon back to the state. Supreme Court, Country's APEX court ordered for revoking the ban on the ABN Channel programmes in the Telangana State.
Supreme Court served notices to Centre, telangana Government and Telangana MSOs (Multiple system operators)'asking to revoke the ban. It also issued orders to all district collectors of the state.Apex court also ordered state government to provide security to the MSOs if required.
It may be noted that cable operators in Telangana have barred TV9 and ABN for allegedly denigrating Telangana legislators. Both the channels waged a legal battle to resume broadcast. The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has asked the MSOs' to resume the broadcast of TV9 channel on'October 29, 2014. Now a three-member SC judge'today'said that TDSAT verdict on TV 9 plea would also be applicable for ABN.'The SC judgement will be a huge relief to the media house!
