BJP complains to Guv on GHMC delimitation Hyderabad, Nov 3 (INN): A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party leaders called on Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday and complained of improper delimitation of Municipal Divisions in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
The delegation, comprising of BJP floor leader Dr. K. Lakshman, Khairtabad MLA Chintala Ramchander Reddy and others, said that the delimitation was done in completely unscientific manner. Speaking to media persons later, Dr. Lakshman accused the TRS Government of deliberately delaying the GHMC elections. He said that the Governor has also been requested to ensure conduct of GHMC elections in a transparent manner.
Dr. Lakshman alleged that the delimitation exercise was done under the influence of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen. He said that the new boundaries of GHMC Divisions were drawn to benefit the ruling TRS and its ally MIM. He said that the decision to hold GHMC elections at the time of Sankranti was a conspiracy as the MIM's election symbol was 'kite'.
