Padma Rao launches developmental programmes Hyderabad, Nov 12 (INN): Excise Minister T. Padma Rao Goud laid foundation stone for several developmental works in Addagutta division here on Thursday.
The Minister laid the foundation stone for laying of CC Roads at Banjara Complex, near CPI flag post, opposite Masjid Main Road and opposite Masjid, re-carpeting of BT road (Ganga Jamuna). He also laid found stone for laying of CC road in Venkat Nagar and construction of Retaining Wall and formation of road in Venkat Nagar. He also inaugurated the Power Bore and Sintex Water Tank at Sasthri Nagar.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was keen on development of Greater Hyderabad and he is striving hard for city's growth in all aspects. He alleged that the city's development was ignored by the previous governments in the combined State. It was only after TRS came to power that Hyderabad became the most happening city.
Padma Rao said that the government has sanctioned 2,000 auto-trolleys and 44 lakh dustbins for lifting of garbage. By the November-end, he said all households in the GHMC area would get color-coded bins to segregate garbage at homes. He said Telangana was the first State to provide such bins.
The Minister also informed that the Telangana Government was taking up recarpeting of over 1000 KM of roads in Hyderabad. Of them, 400 KM would be selected for white tapping. He said LED's would replace all street lights and all households in 12 merged Municipalities would get a tap connection.
Padma Rao also said that the State Government has sanctioned Rs. 200 Crore for civil works indentified during the Swachh Hyderabad programme. The GHMC will execute those works very soon.
Senior officials of GHMC, Water Board and TRS local leaders also participated in the programmes. (
