Naidu reviews relief operations in rain-hit districts Hyderabad, Nov 17 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed the officials to press three helicopters into service to evacuate people trapped in rain-hit areas of Nellore, Chittoor and Kadapa.
The Chief Minister on Tuesday held a tele-conference with the Collectors of affected districts and other officials at his camp office on Vijayawada. He directed the officials to take steps to repair the breaches in tanks and lakes.
Naidu also announced ex-gratia of Rs. 5 lakh for those killed due to recent rains. He said relief and rescue operations should be carried out in an effective manner and affected people should be provided shelter in relief camps, food and water. He also asked the officials to stay alert in view of prediction of heavy rainfall for the next 24 hours.
