TDP gets Big Blow; Party's Strong Leader Joins TRS After losing deposits in recently concluded warangal By elections,TDP, Congress- The main opposition parties of Telangana state suffered further setback on Thursday.
Strong leaders of these parties switched over to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti after meeting its head KCR.
Secunderabad (Cantonment) TDP MLA B. Sayanna and Congress MLC M.S. Prabhakar met KCR at his camp office today and announced to media persons later that they had joined the TRS.
The recent development was a big jolt to both TDP and Congress.Mr. Sayanna who is a SC leader and Mr. Prabhakar hailed from Hyderabad where municipal elections are due shortly.
Sayanna also announced his resignation as a member of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Board. Its known that he got with the blessings of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Sayanna didnt made any allegations on TDP.
Mr. Prabhakar, however, accused the Congress of neglecting dedicated party workers.
Sayanna is the sixth TDP MLA to resign after 2014 general elections.The other five being: Commercial Taxes Minister T. Srinivas Yadav (Sanatnagar), Teegala Krishna Reddy (Maheswaram), Manchireddy Kishan Reddy (Ibrahimpatan), M. Krishna Rao (Kukatpally) and Challa Dharma Reddy (Parkal).
