SEC reviews preparedness for GHMC elections

Hyderabad, Dec 7 (INN): State Election Commissioner V. Nagi Reddy directed all the Zonal Commissioners and connected officials who are looking after the ensuing GHMC election work to properly coordinate among the officials and not to compromise any type of work and see that all necessary arrangements be made to the electors by not giving any scope of inconvenience to franchise their vote in a appropriate manner.

The SEC, GHMC Commissioner & Special Officer Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Zonal Commissioners, Additional Commissioners and senior officials of the GHMC and State Election Commission held a review meeting on preparedness of ensuing GHMC elections.

Dr. Janardhan Reddy, while interacting with the officials during the meeting, briefed the State Election Commissioner that political parties meeting have been conducted recently and explained all the representatives of political parties where briefed about the ward wise polling stations and electoral rolls and response to that grievances with regard to various issues related to the ensuing GHMC elections.

The State Election Commissioner enquired about the appointment of polling personnel's, list of polling stations, electoral rolls ward wise and instructed that the officials that they must regularly coordinate with each other so as to take proper care while preparing the arrangements such as training classes to the polling personnel, arrangements for distribution / reception / counting centres and see that all basic civic minimum facilities provided to the electors and as well as the officials who are on election duty.

He further said that due to winter season normally the day will very short and maximum illumination is very much needed for which he has directed the officials to take up all necessary precautionary measures for the convenience.

The State Election Commissioner has directed the Additional Commissioner (Elections) and the Zonal Commissioners that the electoral rolls / voter list be placed on the website so that the electors can know their polling stations and other details of the information pertaining to elections and also to provide information at the Call Centre to know where about of the polling stations to the electors for which the officials has assured that all necessary arrangements are being planned for better monitoring to know the details to the electors at the Call Centre and as well as on the website.

Nagi Reddy also enquired about the electronic voting machines and further directed the officials to open a control room at the circle / zonal offices so as to have better coordination among the Returning and Assistant Returning Officials and the officials of GHMC while taking up the election work.
