Moulana Abdullah Quraishi passes away Hyderabad, Dec 8 (INN): Eminent Islamic cleric Moulana Abdullah Quraishi Al-Azhari passed away here on Tuesday. He was 80.
Moulana Abdullah Quraishi was Deputy Vice Chancellor of Jamia Nizamia and former Imam and Khateeb of historic Makkah Masjid. His Namaz-e-Janaza will be performed on Wednesday after Zohar at Mecca Masjid. The burial will take place in the graveyard of Dargah Hazrath Abdullah Shah Sahab at Naqbandi Chaman in Misrigunj.
He was known across the Islamic world for his unique style of Qiraat, the recital of Holy Quran. Born on September 19, 1935, Moulana Abudullah Quraishi was a highly learned man. He served as Khateeb and Imam of Mecca Masjid for over 25 years. He has been teaching Qir'ath since 1974 and has hundreds of students who have mastered the Qir'ath under his teaching.

Mahender Reddy, Consul General Iran Nourain, Jamia Nizama Chancellor Moulana Mufti Khaleel Ahmed, Moulana Mufti Azeemuddin, Moulana Khaja Shareef, Syed Akbar Nizamuddin and other eminent personalities visited the house and expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
