Center shocks Jump Jilanis in Telugu States; No Delimitation Till 2026 Politically unemployed leaders in both the Telugu States have received a big shock from the center. Centre today in Lok Sabha announced that the increase of the Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will not be possible until 2026.
Ministry replied saying that delimitation will be undertaken in only 2026. According to Article 170, the delimitation can be done only in 2026 after the population census is done.
Section 26 of the AP State Reorganisation Act stated that the number of seats in the Legislative Assembly of the States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana shall be increased from 175 to 225 In AP and 119 to 153 in TS.
Talks of increase in seats in both Assemblies has been abuzz since bifurcation of AP. With both CMs assuring their followers on many occasions of increasing Assembly seats many believe that they will get tickets in next elections.
Ruling parties in the states are admitting leaders as the centre had promised to increase the assembly seats in both the Telugu states.The sudden announcement came as shocker to them.TRS will be most affected as the party almost have 2-3 aspirants for every seat in next elections.
