Ruling TRS Wins Warangal MLC Unanimously In a shocking development to the opposition parties, the ruling TRS won the first MLC unanimously. The Warangal TRS candidate, former MLC, Konda Murali husband of MLA Konda Surekha has been elected unanimously from Warangal with all other candidates in the fray withdrew their nominations.
He will be declared elected unopposed as all the candidates in the fray withdrew their nominations. Five independent candidates filed nominations for the seat and they withdraws nominations in the last minute. Opposition parties, including Congress and BJP-TDP distanced themselves from the election.
The returning officer will declare Murali as elected unanimously by evening. A former Warangal DCCB chairman, Konda Murali is the husband of former minister Konda Surekha, both of whom joined TRS last year by ditching YSRCP.Ruling TRS is expecting similar wins in most of the 12 seats where elections are scheduled for 27 December.
The elections will be held for Legislative Council from Local Authorities Constituencies of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Medak, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda and Khammam.
