SCR GM inspects plan for new rail terminal Hyderabad, Dec 11 (INN): South Central Railway General Manager Ravindra Gupta made a visit to Cherlapalli Railway Station on Friday to inspect the station and review the plans for its development as a new Rail Terminal in Hyderabad. The development plan has already been submitted to the Railway Board.
Additional General Manager S.N. Singh, Chief Mechanical Engineer Kabeer Ahmed,, Chief Opertions Manager J.N.Jha and Secunderabad Divisional Railway Manager Ashesh Agrawal were amongst the officials who accompanied him during the visit.
The developmental plan of Cherlapalli Railway Station as envisaged by SCR, is to come up with a Rail Terminal here, so as to handle the North bound and East bound trains in particular and enable decongest the present major railway stations in the twin cities. This shall come up as the fourth Rail Terminal in the city, supplementing the existing major rail hubs of Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Kacheguda.
The General Manager made an extensive inspection of Cherlapalli railway station and verified its developmental plans which have been sent to the Railway Board. He instructed that the circulating area of the railway station shall be improved on both sides to enable better access to rail users. He also reviewed the ongoing MMTS Phase-II project works concerning the Ghatkesar- Moula Ali-Sanatnagar sections.
Ravindra Gupta instructed officials to monitor and closely follow up with the Railway Board on the developmental plans of Cherlapalli railway station, so as to expedite early clearance.
