Rising defections may lead to political crisis: TJAC Hyderabad, Dec 15 (INN): Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram on Tuesday expressed concern over defection by elected representatives of opposition parties to join ruling TRS.
Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, Kodandaram said that the parties should never encourage defection by elected representatives. He said rising number of defections would lead to a political crisis in Telangana State. He said it was wrong on the part of leaders to join a party after getting elected on the symbol and manifesto of another party.
Kodandaram also expressed concern over increase in number of suicides by farmers. He said 154 farmers committed suicide in the month of September alone while more than 100 suicides each were reported in October and November months. He said that the TJAC would soon prepare an action plan to deal with the issue of farmers' suicides.
