Youth punches prime minister at campaign event 17-year-old man was arrested after assaulting Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy. The youth was detained by police after punching the face of Spanish Prime Minister during a campaign event.
The assailant had been standing next to prime minister. He has suddenly struck out and punched on face catching the prime minister by surprise. Rajoy continued with his campaign after the incident. After punching Rajoy, he also hit one of the security staff
The attacker is believed to have had political motives. Reports claim he shouted 'we must change this government' during his arrest.
The exact motive of the youth was not known yet. Some says youngster had approached the prime minister to apparently take a "selfie" with his mobile phone. But instead he ended punching Rajoy in the face with his left hand.
Video showed him being detained by security guards and then taken into custody. The youth who was quickly arrested by the police and declared: "I am very happy to have done it."
