Shashidhar Reddy condemns 'TRS tag' Hyderabad, Dec 22 (INN): Congress senior leader and former MLA Marri Shashidhar Reddy alleged that the TRS Government was trying to put its tag on the achievements of previous Congress regimes.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Shashidhar Reddy said that the Godavari River drinking water scheme for Hyderabad was originally conceived by his father and the then Chief Minister Marri Chenna Reddy. He said that the project was prima facie approved by Chenna Reddy and his successors implemented the project. He said entire credit for bringing Godavari water to Hyderabad goes to Congress Chief Ministers. However, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his son and Panchayat Raj Minister K. Tarakarama Rao have been trying to take credit for the same by publishing posters and banners.
Shashidhar Reddy said that the Congress party has already put Hyderabad on global map. He said TRS Government has been promising something which has already been achieved by the previous Congress regimes. He said people of Greater Hyderabad were aware of the real facts and they would teach TRS a fitting lesson in the forthcoming civic polls.
