AP Govt forms Task Force to strengthen Oriental Schools Hyderabad, Dec 22 (INN): The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to form Task Force Committee to work out an Action Plan for strengthening of Oriental Schools and Colleges to preserve and propagate both the languages of Sanskrit and Telugu, Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao said.
The Chief Secretary chaired a meeting today with the committee members to discuss on preparation of action plan for strengthening of Oriental Schools and Colleges as well as both the languages Sanskrit and Telugu, in the State. He said that to revitalization of Oriental Schools and Colleges the Institutions in the State may be affiliated to Telugu University proposed at Rajahmundry.
The Committee members opined that the Oriental Colleges may be entrusted to the nearby wealthy sources temples in the State; Sanskrit related computer based education may be introduced and existing vacancies may be filled up with required staff in the Schools and Colleges.
The Chief Secretary directed the members that special training to all the lecturers working in Oriental Colleges and also for all the employees working in Devasthanams may be provided with eminent Pandits. After establishment of Telugu University in the State an expert committee may be constituted with senior and experienced Pandits to frame common syllabus and to supervise the Oriental Colleges.
Prl. Secretary Revenue J.S.V. Prasad, Secretary School Education Sisodia, Secretary Higher Education Sumita Dawra, Commissioner School Education Udaya Lakshmi, Kovvuru Sanskrit College Representative Dorbala Prabhakara Sarma and others attended the meeting.
