PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Afghan parliament built by India. The new Parliament building has been constructed by India at a cost of about Rs 710 crore.The Darul Aman Palace (Afghanistan's old parliament) was bombed by Taliban and indian government assures support to Afghan on construction of new parliament. Then Prime minister Manmohan singh has laid foundation stone.The project was initiated by the Indian government in 2007 as a mark of friendship and cooperation to help rebuild war-torn Afghanistan.
The Parliament building has elements of Mughal and modern architecture and has Asia's largest dome as its key feature.One of the Parliament's block is named after former Indian prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.Modi speaking at the event said that The new Parliament building in Afghanistan will stand as a symbol of ties between India and Afghanistan.
