All set for polling for 6 MLC seats Hyderabad, Dec 26 (INN): Elaborate arrangements have been made for the polling to fill six vacant seats of State Legislative Council under Local Authorities' Constituencies in four districts of Telangana State on Sunday.
CRPF battalions have been deployed in Nalgonda district to ensure maintenance of Law and Order during the polling. The TRS has already won six out of 12 seats unopposed. They include two seats of Karimnagar and one seat each from Adilabad, Nizamabad, Medak and Warangal LACs. Now polling will be held on Sunday to fill six vacant MLC seats.
Of 1120 voters in Nalgonda LAC, Congress had strength of 548 seats. However, most of the voters have already switched loyalties to TRS which reportedly had just 140 votes. A few members of TDP and other parties too are reportedly supporting the candidature of TRS candidate T. Chinappa. Congress party has fielded former MP Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy as its candidate from Nalgonda LAC.
The Congress party is supporting TDP candidates in Ranga Reddy and in turn, TDP is supporting the Congress in Nalgonda. Congress and TDP are supporting the candidature of CPI candidate in Khammam district.
Polling will be held on Sunday from 8 AM to 4 PM. The results will be declared on December 30.
