Sultan Bazar traders hold protest at Metro Rail Bhavan Hyderabad, Dec 26 (INN): Demanding change of metro rail route at Sultan Bazar, several traders staged a dharna before the Metro Rail Bhavan at Saifabad on Saturday.
The traders said that hundreds of people would lose their source of livelihood if Metro Rail authorities implement the original design at Sultan Bazar. They demanded that the authorities change the route in the interest of hundreds of traders and hawkers.
HMR Managing Director NVS Reddy told agitating traders that their Joint Action Committee has agreed for implementation of old plan as the new route was likely to cause more damage. He assured that the present route causes no damage to the buildings of Arya Samaj and Jain Mandir in Sultan Bazar. He also informed that the affected traders would be accommodated in a new shopping complex and Sultan Bazar would be declared Special Hawkers' Paradise and turned into a night bazar.
