Hyderabad Airport Introduces First Ever e-boarding Facility Hyderabad Airport becomes the first in the country to launch e-boarding facility. All the domestic passengers will be able to use this electronically enabled boarding solution and it was launched officially today by civil aviation minister Ashoka Gajapati Raju.E-boarding reduces human intervention and easies the movement of passengers through the airport and reduces waiting time at various check points.
This solution will ensure the a domestic passenger will need only a mobile e-boarding card and his Aadhaar Card number to gain entry into the airportOnce a passenger has booked a flight ticket, he gets an SMS from the airline 24 hours before the date of journey informing them about the e-boarding option.
The passenger can then opt for a web check-in and will receive an Unique Mobile Pass and a QR Code on their registered mobile phone. On the day of travel, the passenger arrives at the terminal and uses a special e-boarding machine available at the entry gate and scans the QR Code and enters the Aadhaar Card No. followed by validating their biometric credentials with a fingerprint scan on the system. This validates passenger credibility.
This new process will eliminate the cumbersome process of standing in huge queues for physical boarding cards and their stamping. Hyderabad became the first airport in India to go live on e-boarding for all domestic passengers. Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi Airports have also initiated e-boarding pilot using scanners and e-gates.
