Minister assures drinking water in peripheral areas Hyderabad, Dec 31 (INN): Transport Minister M. Mahender Reddy on Thursday said that the Telangana Government would take all measures to provide safe and pure drinking water to residential areas on outskirts of Hyderabad.
Speaking after laying foundation for various developmental works in Kukatpally area, the minister claimed that the State Government was spending Rs. 1900 crore to supply drinking water on city's outskirts. He said pipelines were being laid and other infrastructure was being constructed to supply water to Basthis and colonies. He also announced construction of an indoor stadium in Kukatpally Housing Board division at a cost of Rs. 4 crore. He said that the UGD pipeline works in Purota Nagar of Allapur division and Ambedkar Nagar of Moosapet division would be completed soon.
MLA M. Krishna Rao, GHMC Zonal Commissioner Gangadhar Reddy, Deputy Commissioner Narender Goud and other officials were also present on the occasion.
