BJP Govt gave more than Rs. 1 lakh cr to TS: Kishan Reddy Hyderabad, Jan 1 (INN): Telangana BJP President G. Kishan Reddy on Friday claimed that the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre has provided more than Rs. 1 lakh crore funds for Telangana State.
Speaking to media persons here, Kishan Reddy accepted the challenge posed by Panchayat Raj Minister K. Tarakarama Rao wherein the latter had asked the State BJP leaders to get Rs. 1 lakh crore package for Telangana from the Centre. He said he would furnish the complete break-up of funds released by the Centre so far, provided, KTR agrees to withdraw TRS from contesting the next GHMC elections.
Kishan Reddy said no welfare programmes could be taken up in the State without the active support of Central Government. He asked KTR whether TRS Government was implementing all welfare schemes without Centre's support.
The BJP alleged that TRS leaders were involved in large scale irregularities and embezzlement of funds. He said that the TRS leaders have been targeting the BJP as they were afraid that BJP-TDP combine would win the forthcoming GHMC elections.
