GHMC Polls Schedule Out: Election On Feb 2 nd
The much-awaited notification for GHMC elections was announced by election commission while ago. The polling for GHMC will be held on February 2 from 7 am to 5 pm.EC will be accepting the nominations from the candidates between January 12 and 17. The nominations would be scrutinized on January 18 and January 21 will be the last date for withdrawal of nominations.
Counting of votes will be taken up on February 5. Repolling, if necessary anywhere, would be held on February 4.The model code of conduct for the GHMC polls came into force from today. 30 IAS officers have been drafted for poll purpose and 30,000 police personnel will be deployed for law and order duties. With declarations of polling dates, all the parties are expected to hit the campaign trail.
While the Telangana government had earlier planned to hold election on January 17, it went back after criticism from various quarters over holding elections a day after Sankranthi.
