Venkaiah Naidu seeks special trains for AP Hyderabad, Jan 14 (INN): Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu spoke to Railway Board Chairman A.K. Mittal explaining the difficulties being faced by the people travelling from Hyderabad to Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Tirupati etc. to go to their native places for celebrating Sankranti.
Today morning, the Chairman called back the Minister and informed him that the South Central Railway has been instructed to run special trains one in the morning and another in the afternoon and subject to demand one more late in the night. He also informed the Minister that 35 additional coaches, two each for trains going towards Guntur, Rajahmundry, Kakinada, Visakhapatnam, are added to take care of the rush. Naidu also told the Chairman to make available for their return journey to Hyderabad on 16th & 17th January by running special trains for which the Chairman agreed and gave instructions to the officials concerned in South Central Railway.
Naidu hoped that this would take care of the travel needs of the people travelling from Hyderabad to Andhra Pradesh and vice versa.
