AP minister Undergoes Surgery At Govt Hospital Andhra Pradesh Medical and Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas chose a unique way to send a message to the people that government-run hospitals are capable of extending good medical services on par with private hospitals.
Kamineni Srinivas underwent a surgery for knee replacement at the Government General Hospital (GGH) in the city on Friday. The operation was supervised by GGH superintendent Raju Naidu.
Earlier on Thursday, Srinivas said that he opted for the GGH hospital to highlight the fact that government hospitals provide facilities on par with private institutions. He urged people to opt for GGH for their medical needs. Srinivas has stated that all the measures are being put in place to strengthen the Government hospitals in the state by encouraging the patients to get treated in these hospitals.
The Minister was suffering from knee pain for last one year or so had been advised to undergo knee replacement surgery. Several of the minister's cabinet colleagues congratulated him on the successful operation and said they will follow his lead. Kamineni is expected to stay for three days at the hospital for post-operative care.
