Only 45% polling witnessed Hyderabad, Feb 2 (INN): GHMC Commissioner & Election Authority Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy informed that an average 45% of polling percentage was registered in all 150 divisions where polling was held on Tuesday. In 2009 elections, the polling percentage was 42.9%.
The Election Authority said that this time live webcasting was done in 2,900 sensitive and hyper sensitive polling stations. He said some incidents have occurred outside the polling stations. He said of 7,802 polling stations, minor problems were in EVMs were reported in only nine Polling Stations.
The Election Authority said that this time the GHMC has provided the Braille ballot paper for the blind people to cast their vote. In last GHMC elections, there were about 300 tender votes. But this time there were only four tender votes in different wards.
Dr. Janardhan Reddy thanked the citizens of the twin cities for their active participation in conducting for free and fair poll.
