Huge Salary Hike For TS MLA'S After registering massive victory in recently concluded GHMC elections Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is now mulling the option of enhancing the salaries for the MLAs and MLCs in Telangana.
The TRS government is contemplating hiking the pay package of MLAs and MLCs by nearly 400 percent. As per reports KCR is seriously thinking of raising the salaries of MLAs and MLCs from the present Rs95,000 per month to anything around Rs3,00,000 per month.
CM is reported to have gathered details of remuneration for people's representatives in other states. Currently, the legislators get a salary of Rs 1.2 lakh per month, including the emoluments.The Chief Minister was of the view that corruption free governance must start when adequate salaries were paid to them. Former Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy had enhanced the salaries of legislators from Rs 45,000 to Rs 95,000 when he was in power.
The proposal hike would cost about Rs. 3.2 crore per month to pay these enhanced salaries to 160 MLAs and MLCs in the State. A government order on the hike is expected to come out soon, according to sources.
