AP CM meets Modi over Special Status Hyderabad, Feb 9 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at New Delhi on Tuesday.
Naidu reportedly urged the Prime Minister to grant Special Status to Andhra Pradesh and fulfill other promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act. He also sought central funds for early completion of pending projects in the State. During the half-an-hour meeting, Naidu also briefed the PM on the status of works pertaining to Amaravati, the State's new capital.
During his visit to the national capital, Naidu also met Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and sought special sops for AP industries on the lines of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. He said special grants should be given for development of backward areas in AP.
The AP CM also called on Union Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu and discussed pending railway projects in the State. He also demanded setting up of Visakhapnatnam Railway Zone.
Naidu also met BJP national president Amit Shah during his Delhi visit.
