Govt suppressing info on GHMC elections: Congress
Hyderabad, Feb 15 (INN): Congress senior leader Marri Sashidhar Reddy has accused the Telangana Government of concealing information related to booth-wise polling in the recently concluded GHMC elections.
Speaking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party office on Monday, Sashidhar Reddy said that the Congress party had approached the GHMC seeking the polling details. However, he said that the Deputy Municipal Commissioner has refused to give details stating that the State Government has instructed them against giving the information. He said booth-wise polling details were essential to contest the case in a court of law. However, the State Government is suppressing the information to cover the irregularities done during elections, he said.
Shashidhar Reddy said that the TRS Government was openly violating the law and Constitution. He said that the website on GOs has been shut down just to prevent people from learning about the irregularities and scams being committed by the TRS Government. However, he said that the Congress party would fight to restore the rights of common people.
