Palwai alleges irregularities in irrigation contracts Hyderabad, Feb 15 (INN): Congress senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Palwai Govardhan Reddy on Monday alleged that the TRS Government has modified the packages of Pranahita-Chevella Irrigation project to benefit the contractors.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises, Palwai said that the State Government has merged 28 packages of Pranahita-Chevella into Kaleshwaram. While those packages were of Rs. 500 crore each, the State Government increased them to Rs. 1200 crore each while retaining the contractors. He alleged that the TRS leaders have received huge kickbacks to favour those contractors.
Further, Palwai alleged that the Palamaru project was initiated without taking required permissions from authorities concerned. He said this was done only to benefit the contractors and receive kickbacks.
He also accused Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of acting like a dictator. He said instead of holding elections for different municipal corporations at once, KCR held the elections separately so as to conduct irregularities like EVM tampering in a focused manner.
