TRS Bags Narayankhed seat With Thumping Majority Continuing with its winning streak, The Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party swept the Narayankhed assembly by-elections with a thumping victory over the nearest contender Congress party with a margin of 53,625 votes.
While the TRS candidate M Bhupal Reddy polled 93,076 votes, Congress candidate P. Sanjeeva Reddy got 39,451votes. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) contestant Vijayapal Reddy polled a distant 14,787 votes and lost deposits. The by election was because of sudden demise of TRS MLA Kishta Reddy.
The Congress party, which fielded Kishta Reddy's son Sanjeeva Reddy, banked on sympathy but it didn't stopped TRS victory. The win in Narayankhed has further strengthened TRS as this was the first by-election for an assembly seat after 2014 polls. This was the hat-trick win for TRS in recent times. The party has won Warangal by-election and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation with huge majority.
TRS Minister Harish Rao single-handed shouldered the khed election responsibility and did it in style. The entire success in by-election was being attributed to the efforts of Harish Rao.
The TRS got 93,076 votes followed by Congress 39,451 and TDP 14,787.
