Govt wants to suppress opposition's voice: Shravan Hyderabad, March 2 (INN): TPCC Chief Spokesperson D. Shravan Kumar on Wednesday accused the TRS Government of trying to suppress the voice of opposition parties, especially the Congress party.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here, Shravan Kumar said that the recommendation made by the Assembly's Rules Committee of suspending MLAs for one year if they disrupt Governor's address as undemocratic. He reminded that while in opposition, present Legislative Affairs Minister T. Harish Rao himself had disrupted the Governor's address, broke mike and tore the speech copy. However, just to intimidate the opposition MLAs, the Rules Committee came up with the recommendation of one year suspension.
Shravan Kumar said that the TRS Government wants to silence the main opposition by intimidating its members of severe action if they raise people's issue in the House. He appealed to Speaker S. Madhusudan Chary to reject the recommendation. He said that the Congress legislators would raise people's issues in the Telangana Assembly and Council without any fear.
