Speaker Issues Show Cause Notices To Defected MLAs After dodging for over one year, Telangana Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary has finally responded on the party defectors. A total of ten MLAs defected to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) from TDP have been served with show-cause notices by the Legislative Assembly Speaker M. Madhusudanachary on Thursday.
On Thursday, the Speaker issued notices to 10 TDP MLAs who had defected into the TRS and the notices were issued following a letter given by TDLP leader A Revanth Reddy.
In his notices speaker sought their explanation why an action should not be taken against them for defecting from the party on which they got elected. The Speaker issued the notices to MLAs Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Rajendar Reddy, Prakash Goud, Vivekananda Reddy and Sayanna seeking explanation.
Out of 15 victorious MLAs of TDP, so far, 10 MLAs had defected to ruling TRS. Errabelli Dayakar Rao had petitioned to Speaker seeking the merger of 10 defected MLAs into TRS as they form the majority of TDP Legislative Party.
Sources said Chief Minister after consulting with legal experts took the decision as they told him that these defectors would have to face the disqualification if the court intervenes in the matter. The speaker issuing notices to the defected MLAs while their petition for merger is pending has now become a hot topic in the political circles.
