SCR gearing up for Krishna Pushkarams 2016 Hyderabad, March 3 (INN): The South Central Railway has drawn a comprehensive plan of action to meet the demands of pilgrim traffic during the ensuing Krishna Pushkarms -2016, said SCR General Manager Ravindra Gupta at a specially convened review meeting held at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad on Thursday to discuss on the arrangements to be made on the Zone with regard to Krishna Pushkarams-2016.
The General Manager stressed on formalising a specific monitoring mechanism to keep abreast of the works planned to be undertaken for Krishna Pushkarams-2016 at the Divisional and Departmental levels. This will ensure that the deadlines for readying the arrangements are met without any hitch, he added. Special care shall be taken, keeping in view the summer and monsoon seasons overlapping during the Pushkaram season, he advised.
Ravindra Gupta wanted the Operating department to plan for special trains during the Pushkarams period, keeping in view the anticipated rush of pilgrim traffic from various directions. All the temporary arrangements such as additional waiting sheds, booking counters, reservation counters, toilets, drinking water facilities, catering facilities etc., shall be ready well in advance, the General Manager instructed the Engineering, Electrical and Commercial departments.
A.K.Gupta, Addl. General Manager; S.N.Singh, Principal Chief Engineer; M.P.Reddy, Chief Commercial Manager; K.Siva Prasad, Chief Operations Manager and Sanjay Sankrityayan, Chief Security Commissioner were amongst those present at the meeting.
