TRS sweeps Acchampet; No seats For Opposition Alliance Ruling TRS swept the elections to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation recently by a thumping majority, and followed it up with a victory in the Narayankhed Assembly by-election.Continuing its winning streak, ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) bagged all the 20 wards in Achampet municipality in Mahabubnagar district. The election was held on March 6 and counting of votes was conducted on Wednesday.
Within few minutes of counting, the voting witnessed a clear result as not even a single seat went to the Grand Alliance under which all the opposition parties including Congress, TDP, BJP and Communist parties contested against TRS. According to the reports , the ruling party managed a stunning 70% vote share in all the wards.
The campaigning witnessed heavy participation from Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, Laxma Reddy.Now, TRS will elect one of its elected ward members as the municipal chairman.
On the other side, the counting for Khammam and Warangal Municipal Corporations is also on. Telangana Rashtra Samiti is maintaining its supremacy by leading in majority number of divisions in Khammam and Warangal.
