Medical facilities for auto drivers at ESIC Hospitals Hyderabad, March 12 (INN): Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said that Central Government would issue a notification for providing medical facilities to auto-rickshaw drivers at ESIC hospitals on April 1.
On pilot basis the new facility will be implemented initially in New Delhi and Hyderabad, he said.
Speaking at the MOU signing programme between ESIC and Telangana State for the exchange of Sanatnagar and Nacharam hospitals here on Saturday, he said that more workers of the unorganised sectors like construction workers, domestic workers, Asha workers and Mid-day meal workers will be added in the social security system in the coming days.
The MOU papers exchanged between Dr.Devika Rani, Director I/c, Insurance Medical Services, Govt. of Telangana and Deshpandey of ESIC to facilitate to setup medical college at ESIC, Sanatnagar.
Dattatreya also said the ESIC medical college will be developed as model hospital. 40% seats are reserved for the children of labourers, he said. For the benefit of the working class, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has been taking many measures, he said.
Telangana Home and Labour Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy requested the Union Minister to provide proper facilities at Warangal and at other areas. Dattatreya assured that the existing dispensaries will be developed as 6-bedded hospitals for the benefit of the workers.
