Rly officials undertakes road check Hyderabad, March 15 (INN): The Hyderabad Division of South Central Railway undertook road check at Manoharabad and Medchal Railway stations on Tuesday to curb ticketless / irregular travel and ensure comfortable and safe journey of bona-fide rail passengers.
A road check denotes ticket checking staff and security personnel proceeding by road vehicles to identified railway stations to conduct a sudden check of trains, there by holding a surprise element to the check, so as to catch the ticketless/irregular travellers unaware.
The Check was conducted under the direct supervision of Assistant Commercial Manager, Hyderabad Division. Tickets, of all the passengers of 08 train viz: 07 Passenger trains and 01 Mail/Express trains were scrutinized to detect ticketless / irregular travel.
The check was undertaken by 21 Ticket checking staff, supplemented by 15 Railway Protection Force (RPF) Personnel. A total of 114 persons, comprising of 92 persons travelling without ticket and 22 cases of un-booked luggage were detected. An amount of Rs. 35,136/- was realised towards penalty during the check.
