AP to take Centre's nod in tapping case Hyderabad, June 24 (INN): The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to seek the nod of Central Government to probe into the case of phone tapping.
According to sources, the AP Government would take clearance from the Union Home Ministry to launch a full-fledged probe into the alleged phone tapping by the Telangana Government. Based on a complaint lodged by AP Minister Devineni Uma at Bhavanipuam Police Station in Vijayawada, a case was registered against the Telangana Government for phone tapping.
The AP Government had also constituted a Special Investigation Team to probe into the matter and so far, notices were issued to 12 mobile companies. The SIT has questioned the representatives of nine mobile companies in the last two days. The SIT is likely to submit its report to Director General of Police JV Ramudu who would then approach the Centre seeking its permission for further probe.
