Lok Ayukta adjourns hearing against Jagadish Reddy Hyderabad, June 24 (INN): The Lok Ayukta has adjourned the hearing to August 6 on the allegations of corruption against Energy Minister Jagadish Reddy.
Former MP Ponnam Prabhakar and Congress MLA Sampath Kumar, who lodged the complaint against the minister, were present when the Lok Ayukta heard the case on Wednesday. Speaking to media persons later, Ponnam reiterated his allegation that Jagadish Reddy, as the then education minister, and TRS MLC Pulla Rajeshwar Reddy collected 5% kickbacks from the managements of private colleges to clear the Fee Reimbursement dues. He said he had sufficient evidence to prove his allegations.
Ponnam also alleged that the entire proceeds of kickbacks were transferred to Rajeshwar Reddy's foreign bank account in OCBC Bank of Singapore. He demanded a high level enquiry into the alleged scam.
