CM launches mobile apps for citizen services

Hyderabad, July 4 (INN): Taking forward the Prime Minister's Digital India initiative, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu today launched 'Digital Andhra Pradesh' with a series of mobile applications.

Mobile MeeSeva app: (Android)

This citizen-services mobile application includes 334 services such as MeeSeva, utilities (electricity, water, gas bills), payment of taxes, banking, agriculture (linking Mee Bhoomi), booking of rail and road tickets, education, passport application status, news, jobs, legal, police, healthcare, etc. However, in the initial phase it will offer around 19 services.

The salient features of the app include payment gateway, dashboard for transaction history, MeeSeva Category ' A, MeeSeva Category ' B and Utility Bills, MeeSeva locator. That apart, citizens can also message to a Whatsapp contact at 9100199992.

Godavari Pushkaralu mobile app & website:

The Godavari Pushkaralu free android app will have the information about location and directions to ghats, booking pandals, parking spaces, etc. Citizens can also submit their grievances on this app from the venue.

The Chief Minister also directed IT department to send either Voice SMS or an SMS, seeking real-time feedback from people on the services.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also launched officials website for Godavari Mahapushkaram 2015 ( http://www.godavarimahapushkaram.org/). The website not only offers details on Pushkaralu but also provides information on tourist spots in the nearby areas. It has also incorporated a link to the Photo Contest for Godavari Pushkaralu where one can directly upload their high-resolution photos.

Resource Mapping mobile app:

This application will map the location data of all the assets such as banks, ATMS, government buildings, bus-stops, hospitals, etc, on a map interface present in Andhra Pradesh. This will, at a later phase, also include irrigation projects, borewells, tanks, canals, etc.

This can be used as a base map instead of the Google Map by all the departments for monitoring field status reports. That apart, citizens too can contribute various kinds of asset data through this application.

Adult education mobile app:

This in-house government mobile application enables the government to monitor the adult literacy and programme in the state through field workers. The application will give details on basic literacy report, continuing education report and Adult Education Centre visit Report. For this, the state government has purchased 620 BSNL sims for field-level staff and mandal coordinators.
