Toshiba to assist AP in power management Hyderabad, July 8 (INN): Toshio Masaki, Deputy President of Toshiba, has come forward to provide assistance to Andhra Pradesh to optimize power management.
During the meeting with Masaki, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu briefed how the state successfully reduced T&C losses to 10.3%. 'Next year, we want to bring it down to 9% and eventually to 6%, at par with International standards,' he said.
The Chief Minister also invited Masaki to collaborate with Andhra Pradesh in the proposed energy university and partner in energy research.
Later, executives from Toshiba gave a presentation to the Chief Minister on smart power management and smart metres.
The Chief Minister suggested Toshiba to begin a pilot project in Vizag, on lines of Fuji Electric in Vijayawada.
Meeting with Honda executives
Later, the Chief Minister held a meeting with Shinji Aoyama, COO of Motorcycle operations, Honda Motor Co. In this regard, he invited the Japanese automobile giant to set up a plant in Andhra Pradesh.
The Chief Minister explained about the opportunities for automobile manufacturing in the state and how auto companies could use the state as a manufacturing hub and export it to the Asia-Pacific region.
'We have unveiled and automobile and auto components policy that allows ancillary units to function from the state and support the mother unit,' he said, adding that the Chennai-Bangalore and Vizag-Chennai Industrial corridors will boost the investment potential in the state.
Aoyama lauded the Chief Minister for his vision to develop Andhra Pradesh as one of the best investment destinations. 'We are attracted to explore opportunities in your state,' he added.
Meeting with Prefecture of Toyama delegation
A Prefecture of Toyama delegation has met the Chief Minister. Ryuko Hira of the delegation informed the Chief Minister that Toyama is proposing a collaboration with Andhra Pradesh in twinning.
Toyama is a prefecture of Japan located in the Hokuriku region on the main Honshu Island. Toyama is also the leading industrial prefecture on the Japan Sea coast, and has the industrial advantage of cheap electricity from abundant hydroelectric resources.
Following the discussion, the Toyama delegates gave a presentation on the Perfecture in this regard.
