DS formally joins TRS Hyderabad, July 8 (INN): Former PCC President Dharampuri Srinivas formally joined the Telangana Rashtra Samthi here on Wednesday.
DS reached the TRS Headquarters Telangana Bhavan in a massive rally where Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao inducted the former PCC chief into his party by offering a pink khandwa (scarf). Speaking on the occasion, KCR expressed confidence that Srinivas' entry would strengthen the TRS across Telangana State. He said that DS has joined the TRS to achieve the dream of Bangaru Telangana. He reiterated that DS had no greed for any post. He claimed that DS had played a crucial role in formation of Telangana.
KCR also criticised his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu and accused him of causing obstructions in the development of Telangana State. He said TDP leaders did not mend their ways even after 'Cash for Vote' case came into limelight. He advised Naidu to focus on development of Andhra Pradesh, instead of meddling into the affairs of neighbouring State.
KCR said that the AP leaders were not willing to leave Hyderabad despite division of State. Despite living in Hyderabad for a long period, the AP leaders did not learn the local language and culture. Instead of "Eid Mubarak", they say "Ood Mubarak", he said.
Earlier, DS said that the development of Telangana was possible only under the leadership of KCR. He said KCR has made several sacrifices to achieve statehood for Telangana. He recalled that when KCR undertook fast unto death, he forced AICC President Sonia Gandhi to grant statehood for Telangana. He said he would not reply to different allegations being levelled against him by the Congress leaders after he quit the party.
