Congress seeks PM's intervention on Pranahita Hyderabad, July 9 (INN): Deputy CLP leader in Telangana Assembly T Jeevan Reddy on Thursday sought the intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resume the construction of multi-crore Pranahita-Chevella Irrigation Project.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Jeevan Reddy claimed that the Pranahita-Chevella project was completely free from any controversies. He said that the project was given all clearances and all inter-State disputes with Maharashtra were resolved before the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh itself. He said nearly Rs. 10,000 crore have already been spent on the project.
Jeevan Reddy alleged that TRS Government was trying to stall the project to favour the BJP Government of Maharashtra which had demanded changes in project design. He demanded that the project should be resumed immediately as it would benefit nearly six districts of Telangana.
