AP CS reviews employees' health scheme

Hyderabad, July 9 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao on Thursday chaired the 1st meeting of the Steering Committee of Employees Health Scheme to review Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme at the Secretariat.

Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme Chief Executive Officer Ravi Sankar has briefed about the objectives of the Scheme through power point presentation. Employees Health Scheme is formulated to provide cashless treatment to the employees, pensioners of the State Government and their dependent family members, which will ipso facto replace the existing medical reimbursement system under the 'Andhra Pradesh Integrated medical Attendance Rules, 1972 (APIMA Rules, 1972)', with additional benefits such as post-operative care and outpatient treatment of Chronic diseases, which do not require hospitalization. Serving State Government employees, Retired employees and family pensioners & their dependent family members are the beneficiaries and the implementing agency is Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme.

The Steering Committee, under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, will review and monitor the implementation of the scheme from time to time.

Financial coverage of the scheme is Rs.2.00 lakhs per episode of illness with no limit on the number of episodes. Even in the Cases where the cost of treatment exceeds Rs.2.00 lakhs, cashless treatment will continue. No network hospital shall deny the treatment in such cases.

The limit of Rs.2.00 lakhs will not apply in cases where predetermined package rates are above Rs.2.00 lakhs ( Cochlear Implant & Renal Transplantation).

The Chief Executive Officer of Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme will settle the claims which exceed Rs.2.00 lakhs, following the standard claims settlement process after obtaining the approval of the Technical Committee already constituted by the Government.

As much as 60% of total amount will be borne by Government and 40% by the Employee / Pensioner contribution. The monthly contribution will be Rs.90/- by the Employee/Pensioner and Rs.135/- by Government (for Slab A consisting of employees with Pay Grades from I to IV, and Slab B consisting of employees with Pay Grades from V to XVII) and Rs.120/- by the Employee/Pensioner and Rs.180/- by Government (for Slab C consisting of employees with Pay Grades from XVIII to XXXII). If both of the spouses are Government employees or Service Pensioners, contribution by any one of the spouses is sufficient.

The Chief Secretary opined that the reimbursement process of the Medical bills may be sent through online by the Drawing and Disbursing Officer to NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme directly to simplify the process and to avoid delay.

Senior Officers L.V. Subrahmanyam, B. Prasada Rao, Poonam Malakondaiah, B. Sridhar, Steering Committee Members ' Employees Association Representatives and others attended the meeting.
