No plans to remove Jana Reddy Hyderabad, July 11 (INN): AICC Secretary RC Khuntia on Saturday claimed that there was no proposal to replace K Jana Reddy as the CLP leader in Legislative Assembly.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Khuntia totally dismissed the reports which appeared in a section of media stating that Jana Reddy was being removed from the post of CLP leader. He accused one section of the media of spreading false rumours. He said that the Congress High Command did not receive a single representation in this regard and therefore, there was no question of replacing Jana Reddy.
When asked about Dharampuri Srinivas' exit from Congress to join TRS, Khuntia said that there was no impact on the party of DS's exit. He said although DS was given high importance, he got affected with inferiority complex after he was denied MLC ticket. He said the senior leaders should realise that AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi has been encouraging the young leaders to rejuvenate the party. Instead of taking such decisions in negative sense, the seniors should cooperate with the party.
Khuntia also clarified that the Congress did not finalise the candidature of Meera Kumar for the by-elections to Warangal Lok Sabha seat. He said that a decision on the candidate would be taken at an appropriate time.
