Municipal employees prevent police from cleaning garbage Hyderabad, July 12 (INN): The civic conditions in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad have deteriorated further with the strike by municipal workers entering seventh day on Sunday.
Thousands of tonnes of garbage is lying uncleared on the streets of Hyderabad. The striking employees also prevented the local police from clearing garbage near Charminar. The workers had an argument with the police personnel and consequently, some workers were taken into prevent custody by the police.
Meanwhile, the State Government has intensified the efforts to end the ongoing municipal strike. The striking unions, however, said they would not call off the strike unless State Government gives a written assurance on resolving their demands
