Panel formed to control rising prices
Hyderabad, July 13 (INN): The Telangana Government on Monday constituted a committee for effective supervision and implementation of Market Intervention programme for onions and other important vegetables in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, to control the rising of prices.
The four member panel will be headed by Additional Director of Marketing as its Chairman. The Joint Director of Marketing, Deputy Director of Marketing (Monitoring Officer) and Grade Secretary of AMC Bowenpally are the other members.
The Director of Agricultural Marketing has been directed to review prices of Onions and other important vegetables periodically, whenever the prices are raised abnormally, the Market Intervention Scheme will be implement to control the prices in the interest of the common public. He has also been urged to issue necessary guidelines for procurement and price fixation for Market Interventions whenever implemented by reviewing periodically and get approval of the State Government.
